Essential read:

  • Succeeding through Service Innovation – the White Paper of the Cambridge Service Science, Management and Engineering Symposium held in July 2007, describes why the service science perspective is necessary and presents its foundations and proposed benefits for education, business, research and government.

On service science:

  • Journal of Service Science – a fully refereed online journal whose content can be accessed free of charge.
  • Service Science Worldwide Community – An online community hosted by IBM dedicated to service science.
  • SSMEnetUK – UK Network of Researchers in Service Science Management and Engineering with explained glossary and key reading recommendations.

On service research:

On service design:

  • Service Design Network – An initiative of Köln International School of Design, Carnegie Mellon University, Linköpings Universitet, Politecnico de Milano / Domus Academy and the agency Spirit of Creation to develop an international network of organizations and institutions dealing with service design in a professional manner.
  • Service Design Research – An online initiative supporting the development of service design research which, among other resources, hosts a series of interviews with key people in that specific area.
  • Service Design Tools – a collection of useful communication tools meant to support the service design process.
